Open House

Wednesday, December 5th  6 – 7:30 pm

Join us for our monthly Open House at Montpelier Shambhala.

Meditation instruction will be given, we’ll practice for a while and then a short talk will be offered by Kate Raddock entitled, Collective Dream, Collective Nightmare: The Inseparability of Personal and Societal Liberation. In a world full of suffering, is it possible to find personal freedom? Is one’s individual liberation possible without another’s liberation? During this talk, we will explore how the solitary path of waking up intertwines with others and society. We will also contemplate the idea that the next “Buddha may be a community, not just an individual” ~Thich Naht Hanh”.

After this brief talk, we’ll have a short discussion, tea and snacks.

Kate Raddock has been a formal student of the Shambhala teachings and lineage since 2011. She has held a variety of positions in Shambhala since 2013, from Center Director to International Programs Manager (and others) working to bring Shambhala communities together to practice and study dharma. Kate has a strong desire to live with deep meaning and loves sharing this with others. She currently works for Shambhala, is a body worker and lives in Plainfield, Vermont, where nature’s bounty shines.

All are welcome!  Free, though donations are always welcome.
