Open House

Wednesday, March 7th  6 – 7:30 pm

Join us for our monthly Open House at Montpelier Shambhala.

This month’s meditation instruction and talk will be led by Scott Robbins.  His talk is entitled: Protecting the Heart

Living within this modern society, our lives are inherently busy, chaotic, distracting. Work, family, and entertainment vie for our attention and can undermine the stability and mindfulness that we cultivate through our meditation practices.

To counteract these distractions, the global Shambhala community includes a group known as the Dorje Kasung who serve as “Dharma Protectors.” In this Open House conversation, we will explore how the Kasung take advantage of the messiness of daily life to be of service to our world and our community.

Khenchen Scott Robbins is a Regimental Commander within the Dorje Kasung, overseeing this group’s activity throughout Vermont. He spends his days cultivating joy both with his wife and two young daughters and in his day-to-day work at Circus Smirkus.

Our Open House concludes with tea and snacks.

All are welcome!  Free, though donations are always welcome.
