Harvest of Peace

with Shastri Donna Williams

September 24th

Date details +

Each year at the time of the fall equinox, we celebrate the Harvest of Peace, coming together as a community to mark the changing of the seasons. Please join us this year to celebrate our sense of Shambhala vision, the richness of our local community and relationships, and a taste of Shambhala's culture.

    We will:

    • Reconnect with the Sakyong Wangmo as we enjoy their Harvest of Peace address
    • Welcome new members and those stepping into leadership roles
    • Share appreciation for the bounty of our rich Shambhala culture
    • Enjoy a festive potluck lunch and conversation with community members of all ages
    • Harvest the abundance of our community to raise funds for our growing center and for the worldwide Shambhala mandala.

    Schedule
    • 9:45 am:   Welcome and Community Mingling
    • 10:15 am: Sitting Meditation
    • 10:30 am: Intro to Shambhala Sadhana and Shambhala Sadhana practice -- led by Shastri Donna Williams
    • 11:30 am: Address by the Sakyong Wangmo
    • 11:50 am: Remarks by our Coordinator and Fundraising for our space
    • 12:30 pm: Festive Potluck Lunch

    What to Bring
: Your beautiful selves, your family and friends (children and newcomers are quite welcome!), and a potluck dish to share

    Important Information
    • You are welcome to come for part of the day if you can't make it for the whole program. However, please note that due to the nature of the Shambhala Sadhana practice, we ask that you come for the entire portion if you would like to practice it with us--it is too disruptive to have coming and going during that time (10:30-11:30 am).
    • The Teachers' Room will be available for children and families to use if they need a break from practicing meditation. We have at least one volunteer to assist with childcare if parents would like to continue practicing while children are in the Teachers' Room.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with questions. We are looking forward to celebrating with you soon!
